Lanigan Elementary hosts first Science Night success
Lanigan Elementary students and families enjoyed its inaugural Science Night Friday featuring lava explosions gummy bear slime and magic milk experiments. P T G president Erin Smith said the free event aimed to engage children in hands on learning outside the classroom. Activities included balloon rockets pencil trick floating ball blooming flowers jellyfish in a bottle and baking soda vinegar color tests. The gummy bear slime station drew the most interest as Principal Jeff Hendrickson guided students in making gooey slime from melted gummy bears corn starch and powdered sugar. First grader Kloey Merritt watched milk and food coloring swirl into a colorful design using a dish soap dipped Q tip. Each participant entered a drawing for five tickets to the Children's Museum of Oswego.

Three Charged in Cleveland Burglary
Three Cleveland men Kaleb M. Lebeau Kyle R. Johnson and Anthony D. Kazel face second degree burglary charges after arrests this week. Lebeau was taken into custody at Oswego Mental Health Center on Banner Street around 11 50 a.m. Monday. Johnson and Kazel were arrested the following day in Hastings between 10 and 11 a.m. Police released limited additional details.
