Exelon Generation aided Oswego County Progressive Agriculture Safety Day with cash and volunteers. The 13th annual event on June 11 at the Oswego County Fairgrounds drew just under 500 fifth graders from multiple schools, with over 60 volunteers teaching safety topics from home and farm safety to first aid and electrical use.

Alan Jones, serving 25 to life for the 2009 strangling of 11 year old Erin Maxwell, has again been denied parole after a Wallkill State Correctional Facility hearing. The board found him a continuing threat with no remorse. next hearing is set for June 2017.
