Fifth graders from across the Central Square School District gathered at Paul V. Moore High School to kick off the Fifth Grade Extravaganza. Stations included dunking, tug of war, field games, a bounce house, and snow cones. Students wore color shirts indicating their elementary schools as they bonded for a future sixth grade start.
Leadership Oswego County Youth invites Oswego County high school students to apply for its 18th annual leadership training. Preference given to freshmen and sophomores with leadership potential. Oswego High School celebrates 160th commencement as 250 graduates march into the Marano Campus Center ice rink to receive diplomas. Superintendent Dr Dean Goeney urges graduates to make a difference and live their truth while keynote speaker Dr Carlos Dator Jr. urges embracing the unknown to unlock potential. Valedictorian Jenna Ballard notes pride in science and personal path, and class president Clare Donovan calls for courage as graduates enter the workforce military or further education.
More than 240 G. Ray Bodley High School seniors graduated at the 2016 ceremony in Fulton. Retiring Superintendent Bill Lynch led the event, calling the moment the most important for educators and families and urged graduates to embrace challenges, learn, and use their influence to help others.
