Syracuse teachers return to school to aid English learners
A SUNY Oswego led partnership with the Syracuse City School District and the New York State Education Department trains 15 teachers in an Intensive Teacher Institute TESOL program. With $220,000 in state support and shared costs, the group pursues ESL certification, mentoring, and practicums across two years, aiming to expand to Rochester and Utica and to help educators teach all students more effectively.
