Fulton woman dies in Volney two car crash
A 77 year old Fulton woman Judith A Hall died after a two vehicle collision at the intersection of county routes 9 and 6 in Volney Tuesday evening. Cedric Hall was cited for failing to yield the right of way. The other driver Salvatore P Trepasso 62 was treated and released at the scene.

Exelon says Nine Mile Point Unit 1 could shut if a new clean energy standard and a contract for zero emission credits are not in place by September. Hannibal Central School District approved a three year CSEA contract expiring in 2019 with raises of 2.5 percent, 2.75 percent and 3 percent respectively. Fire destroys Volney home displacing eight occupants
A large Volney house at 162 Distin Road burned Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters fought the blaze for over 90 minutes but water supply issues due to no nearby hydrants hampered efforts. Oswego County Fire Coordinator Don Forbes said the big old farmhouse had heavy smoke and fire on arrival around 1 p.m. The exact cause remains under investigation.
