New leaders emerge in LOC Derby Brown Trout division
Updated results from the Lake Ontario Counties Derby show Jeffrey Kimball of Oriskany Falls top the Brown Trout standings with a 17 pound 13 ounce fish weighed at Larry's Oswego Salmon Shop, pushing Todd Bassett of Canton PA to second. Grand prize leader Michael Venti of Walworth holds a 25 pound 14 ounce salmon and the $10,000 top prize possibility. The derby runs through July 26 with divisions for Salmon Lake Trout Brown Trout and Rainbow Steelhead.

Learn to Sail summer program begins Monday in Oswego
The H. Lee White Maritime Museum offers Learn to Sail classes for youth and adults starting Monday through early August. Taught by a U S Sailing certified instructor, the program covers Basics Intermediate and Red Book Sailing for ages 9 to 17 and adults, with about 10 hours per course and small class sizes.
