Leaders miss $50K plan as neighboring towns stay out
County leaders failed to unite nearby municipalities for a state funded feasibility study. Turner said no city town or village partners stepped forward and the opportunity to pursue a $20 million consolidation prize faded. Officials lament the missed chance and note voters would decide any final consolidation. Cuomo proposed similar plans with voter approval and cost saving aims, while the MCEC emphasizes consolidation as eligibility.
