Oswego district eyeing $60 million capital project
OCSD officials outline a proposed district wide capital project to upgrade Oswego schools. Oswego High School would spend 23.25 million on safety and mechanical system upgrades and renovations while Oswego Middle, Leighton Elementary, Minetto Elementary, Kingsford and Fitzhugh Elementary, and Riley Elementary plans vary from 3.0 to 12.6 million each for security, windows, doors, water systems, and site reconstructions. The plan relies on state aid, retiring debt, a capital reserve fund, and a local tax share of 0.38 per 1000 assessed value starting in 2021. The district argues funding preserves enrollment and avoids school closures. Public info session and hearing dates set.

Corruption trial of former Cuomo aide to begin today
Former Cuomo aide Percoco faces a corruption case alleging he accepted more than 315000 dollars from COR Development and Competitive Power Ventures between 2012 and 2016 to influence state business. Prosecutors say he promised to help with state projects while Howe, a fellow former aide, set up shell accounts for bribes. The trial, part of a two-trial split, highlights Albany ethics questions and includes other executives from COR Development and CPPV.
