Fourth graders explore Hau denosaunee life at school
Fourth graders at Lura M Sharp Elementary in Pulaski visited a Haudenosaunee village during a Jan 15 performance of There Once was a Longhouse. Actors from Merry-Go-Round Playhouse wore traditional attire while students acted as members of the five nations. They walked a longhouse set, gathered at five campfires, chose chiefs, joined a Council of Nations, and took part in a Thanksgiving festival and hunting game, with storytelling integral to Native culture.
