Debate rages over high sensitivity DNA analysis in courts
The debate centers on low copy number DNA methods used with touch DNA and tiny sample sizes. Proponents say the technique helps convict by boosting evidence, while critics led by the FBI call it inconclusive and unreliable due to contamination and transfer risks. Courts weigh admissibility case by case as guidance remains unsettled.
