New York tests Long Island water over Grumman plume
Albany reports began Thursday testing six wells on Long Island for toxins linked to a groundwater plume near the former Grumman plant in Bethpage. Gov. Cuomo announced a $6 million state groundwater study and new water measures including rapid response teams after prior contamination concerns.

SUNY Oswego Week Has Art Exhibits and Planetarium Shows
SUNY Oswego hosts a week of art and science events at multiple venues. Geometric art by James Gyre and Laura Gyre runs at Rice Creek Field Station from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. An Oswego downtown exhibit features Of Light and Land by Taylor Clock with noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday hours. Other events include the Rice Creek Ramble winter walk at 11 a.m., a Student Art Exhibition in Penfield Library, planetarium shows at the Shineman Center, and several campus performances and sports events.
