Proposals to keep FitzPatrick Nuclear Plant operating
Assemblyman Barclay outlines two bills with Sen. Ritchie to preserve New Yorks nuclear fleet and specifically FitzPatrick. A $60 million FitzPatrick tax credit aims to retain the plant using nonstate funds, plus statewide incentives for other reactors. He stresses nuclear as zero emission, 24/7 power, and warns of $500 million regional losses if FitzPatrick closes. He notes ongoing efforts amid policy changes and invites contact.
