Laker Mississagi Docked In Oswego Harbor This Week

Oswego welcomed a Great Lakes laker as the Mississagi arrived, a 620 foot vessel of Lower Lakes Towing Limited built in 1943. The ship, once George A. Sloan, carries 15,800 tons and operates as a self unloading bulk carrier.

Snowshoe Wanders Return At Amboy 4-H Center

Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center resumes winter Sunday Woodland Snowshoe Wanders in January at 2 pm on January 7 and 14 with a per person fee and family rates. An environmental educator will teach snowshoe technique before a short wander through mixed woods and wetlands. Dress warmly in layers and wear winter boots compatible with snowshoe straps. If snow is scarce a winter boat wander is offered. The center is on Route 183 between routes 13 and 69 in eastern Oswego County. For details call 315-963-7286.
