Lawmakers urge reversal of IJC outflow decision
Lawmakers led by Ritchie Barclay and Oaks call on the International Joint Commission to reevaluate reducing outflows from Moses Saunders Dam, arguing it worsens flooding along Lake Ontario shores. They note historic highs and demand public sessions to discuss impacts on homes, businesses, and communities. The IJC cites natural conditions and aims to reduce lake levels safely, warning of stronger currents as water recedes.
