City budget pivots toward tighter lines and tourism questions
Oswego Mayor Barlow proposes a 45.7 million 2018 budget trimming over 1 million from 2017 while still needing a property tax increase to cover nearly 450 thousand in city wide contractual raises and rising benefits. Ambulance revenue projections are uncertain as council debates funding and staffing. The plan raises costs in Special Items and eyes stronger water plant investments. A discussion on promoting the city with a tourism director appears amid talks on a leaner tourism budget and reorganizing the Planning and Tourism Advisory Board.
