Summer program boosts Pulaski students reading levels
At Lara M Sharp Elementary, a summer reading program serves 40 students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Reading teacher Machell Jones says the focus is on phonics vocabulary and proper reading pace to ensure comprehension, not just speed. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 1:00 and includes math help as needed.
