Oswego County 4-H grateful for community support
In a letter to the editor the Oswego County 4-H program thanks the community for support of the third annual fabric sale at Believer's Chapel in Mexico. Volunteers sorted, measured, and arranged the sale, which raised funds for Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H youth development serving ages 5 to 19 with hands on learning, confidence, and community involvement. For more information or donations call 315-963-7286.

Senate push to move sexual assault cases from commanders to military prosecutors
Senator Gillibrand and colleagues press for the Military Justice Improvement Act to transfer sexual assault prosecutions from military commanders to trained prosecutors. They cite DoD data showing underreporting and peer-in-command assaults, urging reform and protection for victims. The effort follows prior failed votes and fresh criticism of DoD transparency.

Stocking data show 2.3 million trout stocked this year and nearly 2 million other fish stocked across lakes, ponds, and streams, with public fishing rights maps available online.
