Lighthouses Rescue Drive Intensifies at Oswego Museum
Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse benefits from a major spring fundraising push by the H. Lee White Maritime Museum. Since 2014 the museum has led efforts to repair the 81 year old landmark with events at Gibby’s Irish Pub Oswego Yacht Club and Love Our Lighthouse Day. Proceeds support roof repairs safety work and interior updates while volunteers and local businesses rally to preserve the symbol of Oswego’s waterfront.

Two-person team sentenced for attempted burglaries in Oswego
In Oswego County Court, Rebecca Obrien and Joshua Smith, both Liverpool residents, were sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple counts of second and third degree attempted burglary. Obrien received five years probation with no-contact conditions, while Smith got five years' incarceration and five years post-release supervision. They were jointly ordered to pay $1,036 restitution for two suburban burglary incidents on Sept 22, when Obrien drove Smith to two neighborhoods and he entered two homes stealing valuables.
