County grants free Call N Ride for seniors age 60 plus

The county accepts grant money with no local share to fund a senior transport program. Exelon previously provided 30,000, then cut to 6,000 in 2015 to cover 25 percent. Under the new grant seniors 60 and up ride free, with a suggested donation still allowed. The legislature also formalized inter county cooperation to share funds or services during crises and urged Cuomo to delay replacing STAR property tax exemption with a personal income tax credit, a measure excluded from the 2015-16 budget.
