In April first payment due, Schroeder Piano Co. Inc. invites locals to assume small ongoing payments on a fine spinet piano. Credit manager seeks interested party in area to arrange terms and ownership.
The annual Valentine benefit dance sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi takes place Saturday February 13 at the Empire House. A semi formal event starts at 9 p.m. with a four piece band and crowning of the Valentine Queen. Proceeds go to the Heart Association Fund. Only 75 tickets sold at $5 per couple, available from members or Thunderbird Insurance Agency.
Mrs. Frankie Edmondson becomes president of the Red Sands Homemakers Club at a meeting hosted by Mrs. Ann Knapp on Gum Street. Officers named include Edna McClure as secretary treasurer and Marion Gaulke as vice president. Next gathering at Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Grover’s home on North Navajo Drive at 1 p.m. Feb 11 with co host Mrs. Ray A. Jones.
The Lake Powell-Warm Creek Wildlife League hosts Friday night dances at the Glen Canyon Recreation Hall. Mrs. Willy Koch reports a good crowd and says the events likely will continue. Radio Station KPGE provided the music.
After months away Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilcox return to Page and rent a trailer while he awaits a Phoenix union hall call. They found Northwestern winters harsher than expected and note Paul’s rainbow trout for friends. Wilcox previously worked for Morgan Electric and Duffy Electric during construction days.
Eva Yeager hosted a large community Christmas party at her Glen Canyon City cafe with about 75 attendees. The feature recipe Peach Glazed Ham and Veal Loaf highlights nonfat dry milk solids for juiciness and texture.
Olivia McNally of Tucson competed in the national Make It Yourself With Wool Contest in Phoenix and was named one of three Arizona state winners. Her picture appeared in the January 14 Arizona Republic, prompting Page Merchants to take notice.
