A morning street altercation at the postoffice between W. P. Shinault and John Perkins led Shinault to fire a shot that missed Perkins and shattered a window. No injuries beyond Shinault’s bruises. Mayor Elliott escorted Shinault to his office. The dispute arose over a Beat 3 road and drainage district where Perkins resides.
