The Intertype machine was out of commission for three days due to a broken part. A repair to the pipe and factory work was required. The outage delayed the Eagle's production this week and many items had to be omitted.
The death of Mr. William Rowland of influenza in Gadsden Alabama shocks friends in Oxford where he spent most of his life. He was forming a drug business in Gadsden and was a member of the Rowland quartet. He was the second son of Dr. and Mrs. P W Rowland and leaves a wife, parents, a sister and two brothers.
The remains of Mrs. Tede Rushing of Money Mississippi were interred at St Peters Cemetery Monday afternoon. A victim of influenza she spent most of her life around Oxford leaving many friends and relatives to mourn.
Anderson Rushing of Money Mississippi died of Spanish influenza at his home Tuesday evening. He was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs Tede Rushing and well known in Oxford where he spent his early years. He was buried at St Peters Cemetery Wednesday afternoon.

Harry Lewis transfers to Covington Lenn, leaving this Friday. Mrs Lewis and child travel to Caruthersville to visit relatives before joining Mr Lewis. We regret losing them from our city.
The next cooperative shipments list sorghum on Wednesday October 20, cattle on Saturday November 24, and hogs on Friday December 13. Sorghum buyers offer 55 cents per 12th gross now. hogs over 160 pounds will ship in December with strong prices expected, while lighter hogs switch to next April. Corn prices discourage local hauling. farmers urged to market corn for hog feeding. Prices for sorghum seed peas and peanuts not yet opened. avoid rushing these as season progresses.

After a week of study and military duties Ole Miss students enjoyed a near perfect weekend organized by Secretary J H Miller of the Army Y M C A. The program included a chapel movie show, a Gordon Barracks mess hall dance, a reception at the associational building, a Sunday Bible club service, and educational films in the chapel with plans to repeat similar events weekly and expand activities.
Maurice B. Emmich reports on a busy week at the Y with picture shows and sing songs. A Saturday night dance at Gordon Hall followed a week of social events and a lively sing song at the Chapel.
