Robbery spree near Simsas ends with capture of suspects

Four armed negro robbers struck homes along the county last night, forcing open safes and stealing cash and a gold watch. They shot at Joe Davis, wounding him, and fled toward Vicksbare with four stolen horses. Suspects Harrington alias Walker and others are detained in Hazelhurst jail. authorities seek further arrests. Joe Davis, a respected citizen, dies from his injuries.

Outlaw Gentry Killed After Pursuit in Alleghenies

In Green County Virginia the outlaw hatlow Gentry, who killed four men and escaped arrest, was fatally shot by Sheriff Byers and two deputies in the Allegheny Mountains near Covington Kentucky after a pursuit by a teen posse. His wife and child accompanied him as the officers closed in. The incident ends a long manhunt for Gentry, tied to the Duke Palmer murder and other crimes.
