Surprise Birthday Party For Baptist Sunday School Teacher
Twelve members of the Matrons Class of the Baptist Sunday school held a surprise birthday gathering for their teacher Mrs Hathorm two miles west of town on Wednesday afternoon November 22. The event featured tea, sandwiches, a birthday cake, a Bible gift, poetry in verse, prayers, photographs, and games in a joyous afternoon of fellowship.

First Baptist Church Undergoing Major Interior Renovation
Plans for extensive repairs at the First Baptist Church are underway. The overhaul includes plastering walls refinishing woodwork repainting interiors replacing the carpet and updating the electrical system. Services during renovation will be held in the Sunday School annex with pews moved to maintain capacity. A revival is planned for late March into April for two to three weeks.

Mississippi Woman Dies in Memphis
Miss Ellen Bailey, 53, of Oxford Mississippi, died Wednesday at 4 a.m. at 933 Peabody Avenue in Memphis. Her body will travel to Oxford for interment in the family burial ground. J W Norris undertakers in charge. She is survived by two sisters Mrs L L Brown of Vermillion North Dakota and Miss Belle Bailey of Pascagoula Mississippi and a brother John Bailey of Mobile.
