The Cunard steamer Umbria under Captain Dutton did not sail for New York until 9 30 p m due to fog delaying her departure from Liverpool on November 25.

The jury found Dr J L Gartrell guilty of murder in the first degree for the Donegan killing near Amoret Missouri last March. The motive cited was robbery as the brothers allegedly conspired to kill for money and supplies while en route to Oklahoma. Gartrell’s co defendant Donegan reportedly died during the attack and the pair were later arrested in Kansas City while attempting to sell the miner’s wagon and horses. Gartrell faces sentencing as the accomplice trial follows.
Cincinnati dispatch says Deisch, a Bradford Junction furniture and jewelry dealer, was arrested by post office inspectors and brought to the city for hearing before a U S commissioner on charges of using mails for fraudulent purposes. He allegedly ordered large quantities from New York Chicago Cincinnati Columbus and other cities and shipped goods without paying those suppliers.
Stewart Fife a store clerk was formally charged with the murder of Frank W. Richardson in an information filed by the Andrew county prosecuting attorney. He has not been arrested as he left the area in June after a special grand jury investigated the case without returning an indictment.
