News from Qkolona and Meridian report a water-well drilling site yielding two to three gallons of high grade petroleum on the first day. Well Known Citizen Dies at Free Springs

Well known local figure S. Kk Bedenbaugh of Free Springs died Thursday morning October 28 after an acute rheumatic episode and other illnesses. He was a Confederate veteran mason and religious pillar, leaving a large family including ten children. Burial followed at Fulmyeyard Lodge with Masons and Rev N F assisting.
