Enid Oklahoma May 25 Hundreds rendered homeless as a wall of water three feet high and two hundred feet wide swept through the Enid bottoms. Rescue efforts saved many, but property damage in the Enid area alone reaches about 300000 with more losses expected north and west.

Missouri Pacific and Rock Island face washouts and delays while Union Pacific traffic slows. Kansas river rises at Topeka, Cottonwood floods Emporia and Florence, signaling broader disruption across the state.

Foss has about 200 residents on the Choctaw Oklahoma Gulf railway. In Hazleton Pennsylvania coal firms begin enforcing a new age limit law for miners and an estimated five hundred boys become ineligible.

Lexington Kentucky May 25 troops from Frankfort Shelbyville and Louisville joined Lexington’s Company C with Gatling gun to form a 150 man force. They traveled by special six car train to Jackson under Col Roger Williams, while Maj Embrey Allen led the battalion. A hospital corps accompanied the expedition. Curin Jett remains jailed in Winchester as habeas corpus proceedings run to June 4. The press fears witnesses may be deterred at Jackson over the murders of Dr Cox Jim Cockrill and J B Marcum and related cases.
The American Society of Equity issues a national bulletin urging farmers to set a minimum price of $1 per bushel for wheat based on supply demand and costs. It argues current prosperity supports higher prices and warns against holding for more, urging selling at $1 Chicago level.

New York May 24 The National Association of Manufacturers executive committee met to expand organizer committees across the country to unite employers and counter labor activity. Sub committees aim to engage top legal counsel to protect against boycotts injunctions and walking delegates while maintaining goodwill toward workers. The group has grown from 978 firms to 2264 nationwide, promising coordinated oversight of proposed legislation and close contact with state and federal officials.
In St Louis on May 24 Emil Hartmann former member of the house of delegates was found guilty of bribery after 55 minutes deliberation. Judge Bean presided and imposed six years in the penitentiary the heaviest sentence in the bribe trials to date.
The treasury department announced the appointment of Charles Hallman Keep as assistant secretary to succeed Milton E. Ailes who resigned to become vice president of Riggs National Bank. Keep, 40, a Buffalo lawyer and Harvard graduate, was formerly a practicing attorney in Buffalo.
