Oxford City Schools to reopen March 15 after flu suspension
The Oxford City Schools will resume work on Monday March 15 following a two week suspension due to the flu epidemic. Supt A P Hudson explains closure was regrettable but necessary and notes the high school and middle grades finished second term exams and can begin the new term without back work. Final term grades will be issued for the first five grades with examinations omitted.

Lafayette County Ships Seventeen Cars of Hogs in March Start
Lafayette County records show 17 hog cars shipped in the first ten days of March. The Farmers' Co operative Shipping Association sent 10 cars from Oxford and Taylor on Tuesday totaling about 1 100 head weighing roughly 141 000 pounds and worth around 25 000 dollars. An additional car was shipped by an individual and five cars by individuals last week. On March 2 the association shipped one more car bringing the total to 1 189 dollars reported. More livestock shipments are expected this month.
