Three Days Course in Special Training at State Normal
A physical education expert from the up State Y M C A offices in Jackson will conduct a three day course at the State Normal from June 28 to 30. The program focuses on classroom exercises and mass play games, with training in volleyball basketball playground baseball and other sports. Equipment is supplied by the state Y M C A and lectures cover keeping fit in cooperation with the State Health Department.

The Mississippi Text Book Commission completed a lengthy session selecting new school books for the next five years. Awards went to publishers including Duke & Powers, Ginn & Company, Peterson, Lippincott, Benson & Co, American Book Co, and Rand McNally. The Mississippi History book by Dr. Fant was noted as a standout, chosen over many competitors.

Attorney General Roberson reported a successful sale of the first block of Mississippi bonds under the Stone bill. After ten days abroad on state business in Washington and New York, he negotiated with bond attorneys on Wall Street and wired Assistant Attorney General Hemingway that $250,000 of the $5,000,000 authorization had been marketed amid market troubles in the East.
