Mississippi Agencies Win Permanent Writ Over Insurers

Jackson Mississippi January 12 The chancery court in Hinds county made permanent a temporary injunction forbidding 160 fire insurance companies from withdrawing from Mississippi. Chancellor W J Stricker rejects insurer claims of no authority and says the revenue agent can sue in the states name and use ancillary processes. A possible conspiracy to pull out could end the subject matter and trigger a public calamity. The insurers are defendants in a billion dollar antitrust suit now pending.
