Birmingham Feb 8 Renewed interest in the Bankhead National Highway spanning Washington to Los Angeles prompts state legislatures to designate it as an interstate route. Memphis Tenn Feb 5 The Southern Hardwood Traffic association plans definite start next Friday for a hardwood lumber export shipping company led by George C Ehemann. A referendum on forming the company closes Friday with J Townshend reporting a strong majority in favor and the new firm will handle export operations.
The firm will export traffic problems and booking for ocean transport of hardwood, extend service to other shipper classes, and aims to perfect organization in weeks. Incorporation set at 50 000 dollars with room to increase capitalization as needed. Mr Townshend expects traffic association ready services soon.
