W U Hampton died Tuesday morning at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans after six weeks of bronchial pneumonia. He was 67, born August 28 1854 in Lafayette County, and long served as Oxford Dry Goods manager. Funeral at St Peters Cemetery conducted by Rev Roland Leavell and Rev N W P Bacon with masonic rites. He leaves a wife in Okolona and children Dan Hampton Colorado Springs Orin Hampton Tupelo George Hampton Colombo Ceylon J K Hampton Meridian Miss Mrs Frank Matthews Jonesboro Ark Clara Lee Hampton. Community honors shown by many mourners and floral tributes.
