Backstrom Honored as Alaska Assistant District Attorney
James L. Backstrom sworn in as Assistant District Attorney replacing the late Steve Ragan with the approval of the attorney general. He will assist James A. Smiser and later be stationed in Ketchikan. Backstrom, a Mississippi native, has long served the General Land Office in Alaska and has worked around Juneau Fairbanks Denver Helena Santa Fe and Washington.
