Hospital to Open in Water Valley Residence
Water Valley Mississippi December 22 doctors L S Brown and G A Brown have bought Dr J C Armstrongs residence and will open a modern hospital by January first. The facility is being equipped for surgical cases though other patients will be admitted. Patients will receive top care under trained nurses.

Death of Thad Roden at College Hill
Thad Roden died at his home on College Hill December 11 from heart trouble at age 64. He was a lifelong Lafayette county resident. Burial followed December 12 at College Hill cemetery with Rev. W L Hargis officiating. He is survived by his wife.

Christmas Tragedy Case Seen In Oxford Shootings
Claud Poland faced a habeas corpus hearing before Judge Charles Le Crum in Oxford for the December 12 shooting death of Elton Harris. The trial featured conflicting accounts with Mrs Harris as the principal State witness and Poland claiming self defense as Harris allegedly threatened his life. Court proceedings included W. G. Boyett representing the State and counsel for Poland arguing the defense.

Judge orders defendant jailed again in local fraud case
