Mississippi Roads Largely Open for Winter Travel
The State Highway Department reports about eight hundred twenty five miles of roads maintained across Mississippi with extensive work under way. Since January first about 1.2 million dollars has been spent on completed projects and forty one more under construction. Many projects are near completion and will be open before winter, improving rural routes and meeting federal and state bridge requirements. County projects add to the progress, bringing total completed since January to roughly two hundred miles.
