Ex-service men of Lafayette County are asked to register their names with Oscar Douglass and J. R. Hudson so a joint committee can contact them. The group will visit the county to adjust war risk insurance compensation and vocational training matters. Attend to this at once.
The marriage of Miss Erma Roberts to Mr Sid Brown was performed at the home of her brother in Ripley Mississippi on July 21. Roberts lived in Orwood and spent two winters in Oxford with her uncle Dr W W Philips while attending Oxford High School. Brown is a prosperous young farmer from Ripley Tippah County.

Talmage Mayfield was tried before Justice of the Peace John Woolverton with advisor J L Shinaut on Monday charged with stealing a Ford. The state failed to prove a case and Mayfield was released. Carroll Teague 28 of New Albany testified he stole the car Thursday from J L Rhodes park officer in Memphis and drove it to Oxford where it was stolen from him. Rhodes recovered the car at the camp ground Sunday and returned both Teague and the vehicle to Memphis.
