Tragic Death by Poison in Centerville Woman
Miss Maria Kimes, 18? years old, daughter of D L Kimes formerly of Centerville now in Trenton Missouri, died after self administered poison. She had earlier inhaled chloroform for headache but survived, later died from strychnine on Friday after wandering the town in derangement. Doctors attributed death to strychnine with post mortem confirming cause. Burial occurred Saturday as reported by Centerville Citizen May 21.
