No Wage Increase by Roads in Eastern Conference
New York May 3 The conference committee of managers rejected the conductors and trainmen demands from the forty three eastern roads. They note that in 1910 roads granted an aggregate wage rise of 30 million to avert a strike. The current increase of 17 million would burden the public, likening it to 425 million in 4 percent securities. Trainmen and conductors may later modify demands or hold a referendum strike vote among their 100000 members.
