Ottawa eighth graders beat Emporia 12-6 as Brad Spencer scored both Ottawa touchdowns. Three drives reached the 10 with fumbles. Ottawa coach Bob Boldra praised the defense and noted the late Emporia TD came against reserves.
Kansas State coach Bill Snyder may move back to David Allen at punt return when healthy but Aaron Lockett keeps breaking in with 188 yards on five returns and two TDs in three games. Lockett has 69 and 83 yard scores and leads the nation with 36.7 yds per return while earning Big 12 special teams honors. He says he will keep competing as Allen nears return, and Snyder hints at using both returners.
