Douglas and Franklin counties will implement basic 911 in February allowing residents on both sides of the line to dial three numbers. Some Franklin callers will reach Douglas dispatchers, requiring information sharing between agencies for Baldwin County residents. The change follows a previous switch to 1333-1911 and aims to reduce missed or misdialed emergency calls.
