Ottawa eyes teen park as part of Playful City plan
Ottawa leaders discussed a possible teen park on city owned land near West 15th Street and Kanza Park as part of the Playful City USA designation. The project would involve teens in design via the Play Task Force, with preliminary ideas including skating, biking, climbing, and basketball and a rough $150,000 cost estimate.

GreatLife moving into Ottawa building in downtown upgrade
GreatLife Golf and Fitness plans to lease space in the building at Ottawa and move across the street in early November to expand its fitness center. The Ottawa operation also runs the nearby golf course at 1001 E. Logan St. The building, valued around 298000 by Franklin County, was donated to Ottawa Community Partnership Inc. by Lawrence investor Roger Johnson in 2012 with tax and closing‑cost terms. Wray’s Woodworking purchased the former Sears building at 221 S. Main St., with three of Wray’s sons planning a bulk foods store. OCPI will manage sale proceeds for future use.
