Copters Didn’t Come And It Was A Bad Day
In Thai Phong near Tay Ninh Vietnam a marine assault met stiff resistance and suffered about 30 casualties including eight dead after helicopter gunships failed to arrive for nearly two hours. Once gunships deployed the fighting intensified, many marines fell and quick removal of the wounded proved difficult. Officials cited fully committed assets and unclear reasons for the delay, while noting the incident may trigger an inquiry.
