EU agrees to carefully worded slavery apology at racism conference
European negotiators at the U N conference on racism reached a carefully crafted statement they termed an apology for slavery to block reparations lawsuits. Talks remained deadlocked over the Middle East language and reparations, with formal talks winding down around midnight and informal talks expected to continue through the night.
