Manhole Nightmare Ends for Texas Teacher After Sealed Rescue
Kevin Funchess, 41, spent three days wedged in a Houston sewer drain after slipping into a manhole while walking to a fried chicken restaurant. Firefighters freed him Saturday, and he was released Sunday after suffering muscle damage dehydration and irregular breathing. He used a backpack cell phone to call 911, describing a nearly three foot-high street and time lost. Funchess thanked responders and reflected on faith as he recovers.
