Dhaka Flood Threat Looms as Monsoon Rains Persist
In Dhaka the Capital’s dam is strengthened by workers and residents as the city of nine million faces widespread inundation. The Sitalakhota River threatens to swamp the capital while more than half the city already lies knee to waist deep in water after heavy monsoon rains. Shark likely killed divers near Great Barrier Reef
An American couple, Thomas Lonergan and his wife Eileen, were last seen diving off Outer Edge at St Crispin Reef, 45 miles northeast of Port Douglas. A marine expert said inquest that they were probably killed within 24 to 48 hours by a tiger shark and later found items from their gear.
