County to broaden care with new Cigna contract
Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Cigna adding a fourth insurer for the county health department. Midge Ransom said the move aims to serve more residents and integrate with the ACA marketplace. The department already works with Blue Cross Blue Shield Shield and Coventry, and will pursue more providers as possible. If not contracted, patients may face out of pocket billing. approval from Cigna is pending with a goal to start by January 2014.
