Four refurbished benches placed near Ottawa War Memorial
Four newly refinished benches are being installed in front of the Franklin County War Memorial at Fourth and Main. The first bench was placed Friday morning by Jane Creighton and Marie Seneca of Pomona and Helen Hood of Ottawa. Creighton said Hood donated the benches after the city replaced them and planned to discard them. Both women, part of Ottawa's beautification effort, hope the benches provide a contemplative space for visitors. The other benches are expected to be installed soon.
