School numbers steady for Ottawa districts on first day
Ottawa total enrollment rose by 10 students to 2392 on the first day of classes. Superintendent Don Duncan expects a gradual rise in the coming weeks as students enroll. Wellsville, Garnett and Central Heights posted small gains while West Franklin schools dropped 15. A Lincoln Hawthorne adjustment added a first grade class to keep smaller sizes.
