Cedar street project to meet federal standards and widen four feet
BG design engineer Dave Hamby says Cedar must be widened by four feet and achieve smoothness to qualify for an 80 percent federal transportation grant. The plan requires replacing sidewalks, rebuilding storm sewers, and adding traffic calming like roundabouts or neck downs while preserving parking patterns and curb access. Scheduling hinges on KDOT funding with first-phase work set for March 2005 and completion in fall 2005.
