NCAA loosens bowl criteria with IAA win allowance
The NCAA Management Council approved a plan letting Division I-A teams count one win over a Division I-AA foe every four years toward the six required victories for bowl eligibility. A 60 scholarship average in the prior three years by the I-AA opponent is needed. The Division Board must approve. The council also formed a committee to study a school-year work rule, delayed a year by the Board.
